Building Information Modeling (BIM)

Building information Modelling (BIM) represents a process involving the generation and management of digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of a project.

BIM is not a software, BIM in not a file format, but networked, interconnected files containing coherent information. BIM allows the information flow towards all the decisional factors, in order to take in full awareness the best decisions regarding the construction design, execution and operation.

The BIM process is based on the collaboration between all the involved factors in the project (whether it is the designer, the execution or the owner) from the very early stages of planning/design of the project, such that, using the informatic technology, a digital protipe of the construction, which integrates beside the 3D model all the information related to the project, is created.

This virtual model which contains all the physical and functional characteristic of the construction allows the virtual simulation and understanding of the construction development and behavior in time.
